Through My Window by Jayne Rylon

redThrough My Window

Jayne Rylon

Red Light series Book 1
Kindle Edition, 2nd edition, 49 pages

Published June 18th 2014 by Happy Endings Publishing (first published September 2010)

Through my window, a sea of strangers swirl and retreat like waves in an ocean of humanity. I brush my hair, fix my makeup and flip on the glaring red light in my booth before turning to face my audience on the other side of the glass.

For Star, this is just another night on the job, though no two are ever alike. She loves her career and excels at bringing her customers pleasure, relief or intimacy. Adaptable and perceptive, she becomes many things in the course of one evening–whore, lover, nurse, psychologist and friend. But above all, she’s still a woman. And her customers change her with every encounter. Through her window, she observes the world and enhances it when it spills into her realm.

Don't just look in the window, step through it.  Star, a sex worker in the red light district of Amsterdam, is unlike any woman I have read.   She has the confidence and worldliness that as a woman I wish that I possessed.  She is proud of who and what she is in a world that many look down upon.

A prostitute by profession, but I didn't see her as a whore. Star had a way of looking at things differently. She has the ability to read people and see past the surface. To see to their needs almost like a sixth sense.   The woman was truly mind blowing in more ways than one.

A quick read that more than draws you in.  Sexy, erotic and exotic, Jayne Rylon’s Through My Window is a very unique story filled with pride, unexpected passion and a depth I did not expect. You will just have to read and see it from the other side of the window for yourself.

I will be quickly one-clicking the remaining books in the series.

This title is from my personal library.

Turn the Page Signing 7/19/14

I am sitting here at my computer writing a review for a book that I loved. Feeling very tired after a long and fun day. I stop and just think for a minute. How awesome is it that not only do I get to read some really awesome books, I have met some of the amazing authors that I have more than falling in love with. I have also met some of the most wonderful people through my love of reading. People who live hundreds of miles from me, but have left a lasting impression on me in way I can't begin to describe or explain. Some of these wonderful ladies are now friends for life.

This started out to be a Facebook status post that I realized need to be a Blog Post. Today I went to the Turn the Page Bookstore and Cafe for their 19th Anniversary Signing! I believe the total count for the day was over 500 people. WOW! Now I live twenty minutes from the store and this was the first signing I attended there. Some of the Authors attending I have had the pleasure of meeting before, so today was really all about Maya and Nora for me! I got to chat with both ladies for a few minutes and got pics.

As I sit here and write this post, I realize that as a reader I am truly lucky.  Not only have I got to met some awesome writers, I now have people who love this as much as I do to share it with.  I am a newer reader to the Romance World, just now going on 5 years. This world is where I loose myself so that I don't pull all my hair out from day to day life.  As a reader, there are 3 things that make my day. 1) A new book by an awesome Author coming out that day. 2) Meeting those awesome authors that make you get lost in a world that keeps you coming back for more. 3) Meeting and sharing this passion with other.  Today was really all three for me.

I have gotten to met 3 of my 5 top authors. I have made friends for life.  I know as long as I keep reading and sharing this passion, I will always have friends for life.  I feel like a real lucky person today!

Loving the Omega by Carrie Ann Ryan

18715373LOVING THE OMEGA (REDWOOD PACK # 7.5)

Carrie Ann Ryan

Fated Desires Publishing, LLC

Maddox Jamenson almost lost his mate before he knew she existed, but his life is now exactly how he’d dreamed it. The war with the Centrals is over, and his family is healing one day at a time. Ellie is reveling in the simple perfection that is her life and family now, but that doesn’t mean she can shed the self-doubts and concerns that come with being a new mother, mate, and Redwood.
When a disturbance in their quiet life threatens to ruin everything they’ve fought for, Maddox and Ellie will have to learn not only to rely on each other more than ever, but find within themselves the power to forgive.
Author’s Note: This is a novella set after book 7 to give you a taste of Maddox and Ellie. It is best that you have already immersed yourselves in the Redwood Pack world, however even new readers will enjoy a glimpse of one of the Redwood’s favorite couples.

As the redwoods try to come to peace after having triumphed over a major threat and dealing with loss, Maddox and Ellie learned quickly that there are thing scarier than what they have just lived through. Family and love you have for them.

Loving the Omega shows the bond of Maddox and Ellie growing deeper while coping with what it means to be parents. Passion and emotions scorch the pages as we get to see what life is like after for one of my favorite couples of the Redwood pack. Ms. Ryan shows that there is more than love to being mated. More to being pack than family.

Loving the Omega was an emotional and suspenseful filled story that made me believe that just like her readers, Ms. Ryan is not ready to say goodbye to the Redwood pack either.

Complimentary copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review.

B is for... by L. Dubois

22040897B is for...(BDSM Checklist)

L. Dubois
Kindle Edition, 152 pages

Published May 5th 2014 by Farm Boy Press

Mae never imagined she’d be assigned to the most dangerous letter of alphabet… or paired with the most sinister Dominant in the club. The BDSM Checklist game doesn’t scare Xavier, but he prefers leather and steel, and the submissive he's partnered with thinks silk ribbon is bondage equipment.

Pushed to her limits both physically and emotionally, Mae is shock to discover how much she enjoys Xavier's touch. But in the end it isn't just Mae who will be affected by the unexpected chemistry between two seeming opposites. Xavier will have to decide if he's willing to trust the lovely sub with the truth about himself, as he proves to her that there’s a darkness in her—a darkness that just might match his own.

Crossing things off your checklist just got really sexy.  L. DuBois has really lured me into her BDSM Checklist series. I thought the letter A was hot!  Well B is for... Is on fire! The BDSM Checklist series takes place at the exclusive Las Palmas in LA, where the overseers of the club feel that the Doms and Subs have become complacent in their roles.  The overseers have put together a game that pairs Dom and Subs together to check off the kinks of each letter of the alphabet.

B is for… gives the read a look into the darker side of BDSM. Master Xavier uses the nonsexual side of BDSM as a release for himself. Powerful and commanding, he keeps emotion out of his play.   Mae is a sassy submissive that always has a comeback and likes to top from the bottom.

On the surface these two couldn’t be more different. After Xavier and Mea spend just a little time together there is no denying the chemistry between the two. Two unlikely people begin opening thing inside of each other that has done before. She makes him want to break the rules. He makes her want things she should not and like them.

Enticing, dark and erotic!

Not only does Ms. DuBois give the reader a very sensual overview of the world of BDSM. She has a fond gift for giving her characters some amazing personalities that make you want to read more of them. The BDSM Checklist series is now on my auto buy list!

I have fallen in love with reading Biker Romance. It’s dirty, raw and downright sexy! Alpha men who are willing to live the life they want by any means needed. Sex, drugs and rock-n-roll don’t even begin to describe the biker lifestyle. It walks a line while living on the edge. To me love is like walking a line and hanging on the edge.

Laramie Briscoe induces us to the Heaven Hill, MC and sets the stage for her series with MEANT TO BE.

Liam, VP of the MC is not the typical Biker. Yes, he’s Alpha, tattooed, intimating, and sex on a bike.   He looks at things differently for a Biker. He has a conscience. He cares. He takes on a roll that some could never do. A bad ass Biker with a sense of romance, he more than had me at “date night”.

Denise, I understand almost too much. Forced into a position that would have most people calling the cops, she does it to feed and put a roof over her twins head. She is strong and brave in ways that only a mother can understand. Lacking passion for the life of her children, we see Denise get her womanhood back. She also has to learn to trust in someone other than herself. A true test in itself.

Laramie Briscoe’s MEANT TO BE is not only the kind of hard edged Biker story that I love, it has warmth that I have never found in a Biker Romance before. She has brought to life a cast of unique characters that had my heart in pages. Each seemed so real and makes you like them each for a different reason. Even the ones you don’t want too. The plot is fast paced that had me turning pages from beginning to end. Some may say that MEANT TO BE is light for a Biker Romance, and I say NO! There are moments that will make you cringe and some may make you blush. I feel Ms. Briscoe does a fine job of walking the line with MEANT TO BE! While the overall plot of this book had seen it conclusion, we get to see the lines forming for the upcoming books in the Heaven Hill MC series.

A great start to what I believe will be a wonderful MC series.

I was gifted this book from the awesome Slick Reads.  I met Slick at #RAGT14 - Lori Foster's Reader, Author Get Together!  She and I share a passion for reading steamy romances!  I am  glad to have met her and am very glad we are friends!  You rock Slick!!

Fake It by Jennifer Chance

20442927Fake It (Rule Breakers #2)

Jennifer Chance
ebook, 224 pages

Published July 1st 2014 by Loveswept

New grad Anna Richardson works hard—so hard that she’s given up having a romantic life. Anna has even convinced her friends that she’s dating an amazing guy—who they’ve simply never met. But now Anna has a wedding to attend and needs to produce the hottie she’s been lying about for the past six months. Enter Jake Flynn, her infuriating, motorcycle-riding, jaw-droppingly gorgeous neighbor, who’s more than willing to fake it for a weekend. In fact, Jake won’t be satisfied until things get real.

Though Jake is only playing the role of adoring boyfriend, he’s starting to feel the heat, and judging by Anna’s sweet blush, so is she. Letting chemistry this intense go to waste would be a real shame. Soon, though, the thin line between fantasy and reality fades. Jake may not be what every buttoned-up fast-tracker wants, but he’s sure as hell what Anna needs. And if she takes a ride with him, their adventure never has to end.

review3.5 Stars

There could not have been two people more opposite of one another than Jake and Anna. That is what caught me with the story. You have Jake that is so care free and super sexy to boot!  He lives his life to the fullest that he can!  Anna’s issues from her past have made her the workaholic that she is. She is smart and is good at what she does.

Pretending to be a couple for the weekend got them both more than they bargained for.  Attraction is not the issue, nor is the chemistry.  Jake brings out the passion but convincing her to leave her hair down and go with the moment is more than a challenge.

I enjoyed reading Fake It. Jake was written with so much passion for life. He makes you want to take an adventure. A nice reminder, you need to just live life for yourself every once in a while.

This past Saturday all the girls here on Coffee Books Life had the opportunity to meet and greet with a bunch of authors at the Frederick book festival. Panels, prizes, authors, swag and some wine made this event one of the best free events in the area. The day started by getting a tote bag with swag and a schedule with panels hosted by various authors. In a ballroom area all the authors had tables where we could get autographs, pick up swag, buy their books, or just talk about anything and everything.

Dare to Resist

21902207Dared to Resist

Laura Kaye
ebook, 150 pages

Published May 12th 2014 by Entangled Publishing, LLC (Brazen)

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...Trapped and tempted, this battle of wills rages all night long…Kady Dresco and Colton Brooks click on a level that defies logic. There are only two problems. One, he’s her older brother’s irritating best friend, and two, they're bidding on the same military security services contract.  When the competition heats up, Colton is torn between wanting to strangle Kady (and her annoying brilliance) and kissing her into submission. Which is a bad idea for a million reasons, because Kady’s submission is exactly what he craves. Being trapped in a tiny motel room with the object of his darkest fantasies will require every ounce of his restraint.
Kady doesn’t want his restraint, but Colton knows better. She deserves love, marriage, and a white picket fence—three things Colton can’t give her. But her proximity and the memory of their steamy near-miss three years ago slowly destroys his resolve. And he’s not sure how much longer he can keep his hands off…or his heart closed.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you other half stumbled upon your favorite sexy read! That was what DARE TO RESIST was to me. Kady and Colton have lusted after each other for years. They also care about each other and have a friendship. That thing called LIFE steps in the way. Sharing a hotel room with Kady, Colton stumbled across some information that changes everything. Information that has kept him from her. Now knowing Colton dares himself to give into his ultimate fantasy of Kady! One night in hotel room alone with the woman he has fantasized about for years is going to change him forever.

Kady is sassy, sarcastic and smart. She's made a great name for herself and a male-dominated industry. She is a fighter and is going to get what she wants!  Colton, my, my, my! If you don’t fall for this sexy man, I don’t know what to tell you. Believe me, just read the book and you will more than understand what I mean.

Intense, edgy and sexy as hell! Laura Kaye has this amazing way of putting her characters together in small spaces and make the pages heat up. DARE TO RESIST was like a readers fantasy come true!
